About the Modern South Korean DMZ Guard
Crafted by the United Nations, China and North Korea during the 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War, the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) runs near the 38th parallel. Since 1953, this line has been guarded by soldiers on either side of the line. Over the past 60 years, the two Koreas have been engaged in various non-violent “tactics” attempting to one-up each other.
The Modern South Korean DMZ Guard artwork is based on the guards that occupy the south side of the DMZ.
