During the desperate defense of the island of Iwo Jima, the Japanese anti-tank battalions organized small units to counter US Marines' M4 Sherman tanks. These "suicide squads" were equipped with various explosive devices intended to disable or destroy enemy tanks, including satchel charges, magnetic mines, and lung mines: a shaped charge connected to a six foot pool, which was detonated against the tank hull. The close up fighting was effective at stopping the Marines tanks, but it usually came with the price of the defenders lives.
Our WWII Japanese Tank Hunter minifigure includes custom 3D printed field cap, fabric neck cover, and 3D printed lunge mine.
