About the T-34/76Model 1941 - WWII Soviet Medium Tank:

The T-34/76 was a game-changing armored vehicle in the Second World War, influencing the development of tanks throughout the war and beyond. Introduced by the Soviet Union in 1940, it blended firepower, protection, and mobility, stunning and ultimately helping to stop the onrushing German invasion forces in Operation Barbarossa. 

The T-34/76 carried a powerful 76.2 mm gun, which could punch holes through most German tanks in the early years of the war. In addition, it featured innovative sloped armor, which increased the effectiveness of the armor protection and caused some German shells to ricochet away harmlessly. And its wide tracks and diesel engine kept it moving through mud and snow, which proved a major advantage on the Eastern Front as German vehicles continued to get bogged down. 

But the T-34/76 was not without its flaws, and it suffered from poor crew ergonomics and limited visibility. Most importantly, unreliable communications systems left some commanders to rely on flags, which were difficult to see in the chaos of battle. But the power and rugged simplicity of the T-34/76 made the tank a symbol of Soviet resilience. The tough and deadly tank helped stem the tide of German invasion, carry the Red Army to Berlin, and redefine armored vehicle design.
