The Eastern counterpart to the F-15, the Su-27 has a kill/loss ratio of 6-0 and is exceptionally agile for its size. Designed as a powerful air superiority fighter, the Su-27 operates in a variety of roles including general air defense, aircraft escort, and suppression of enemy airfields. The Su-27S (NATO codename of "Flanker-B") was used primarily by the Soviet Air Defense Forces, and as recently as August 2020, has been used to intercept U.S. B-52 bombers.
