The Flak 36 8.8cm Anti-Aircraft Cannon, popularly known as the "88," was one of Germany's most lethal weapons of World War II. Originally designed for high-altitude anti-aircraft fire, the deadly effects of the gun's high velocity shells versus ground targets, armored vehicles in particular, and became a thing of legend.  The "88" was typically set up on a cruciform mount for anti-aircraft defense, but the same gun/mount combination was often "dug in" to deep pits for anti-tank/anti-personnel role. The Flak 36 was transportable on a carriage comprised of a pair of boogies that lifted the whole gun and mount for travel. The typical prime mover for this combination was the SdKfz 7, a medium half tracked vehicle, powerful enough to tow the gun carriage and roomy enough for the entire crew and small supply of ready ammunition.

Brickmania is pleased to offer a limited edition battle pack that contains everything you need to set up your "88" battery: One Flak 36 anti-aircraft gun, one transport carriage, one SdKfz 7 halftrack and six Luftwaffe crewmen. We've made some awesome Battle Packs in the past, but this one is truly epic, and would make an awesome centerpiece to any WW2 display or diorama. We have no plans to SdKfz 7 or the Flak 36 transport carriage as separate kits.
