The SdKfz 251 was Germany's most versatile and widely used armored halftrack vehicles of World War II, often referred to as the "Hanomag" after the manufacturer's name. The SdKfz 251 was used as the basis for more than 20 specialized vehicles, with the basic design going through several refinements throughout production history. The Ausf D model was the final late-war version, notable for it's boxy design that helped simplify the manufacturing process.
