Towed behind the Sd.Kfz 6, the 10.5 cm LeFH 18 was Germany’s standard light field howitzer in the early war. Introduced in the 1930s, it had respectable range, accuracy, and punch and proved useful against infantry, fortifications, and light defenses. The LeFH 18 could fire various types of ammunition, giving commanders flexibility. With the Sd.Kfz 6, the LeFH 18 operated as valuable mobile and responsive artillery. Although conventional, the LeFH 18 was reliable and widely used, delivering sustained fire support through the early years of the war.
