About the KF41 Lynx:
The KF41 Lynx is a heavily armored, tracking Infantry Fighting Vehicle developed independently by the Germany firm Rheinmetall. Its stated purpose is to provide a new state-of-the art fighting vehicle, built around a simplified vehicle platform, which combines a modular chassis and hull with mission-specialized subsystems, all composed of matured technologies and proven components. The original prototype was revealed in 2016 as the KF31, which was slightly smaller and lighter weight IFV, with a crew of three and room for six dismounts. The KF41 was revealed two years later, with increased size and room inside for two additional dismounts.
Built to be modular, initial trial vehicles were built around a turreted Infantry Fighting Vehicle platform, which could be reconfigured in the field to a turret-less command and control variant within eight hours. Additional configurations are being developed for Combat Support Vehicle (CSV) roles, fire support variants (armed with a Rheinmetall 120mm gun), ambulance, mortar carrier, and anti-aircraft variants. The Lynx uses numerous sub-components already currently in use in vehicles, with transmissions and other systems borrowed from the Puma / Ajax combat vehicles, a common commercial diesel engine, tracks from the PzH 2000, etc.
Hungary was the first country to adopt the KF41 Lynx for its armed forces, signing an agreement for an initial procurement of 218 vehicles. The first 55 would be built in Germany, with the rest being assembled in a new facility within Hungary, beginning in January, 2023. There are now plans for additional vehicles to be produced in Hungary, with additional variants being announced. It has also been revealed that Ukraine has begun manufacturing the KF41 Lynx in Ukraine. Italy and Romania are also in the early stages of procuring the KF51 Lynx for their armed forces. The KF41 is also being considered for use by other countries around the world, including the United States as a potential replacement for the M2/M3 Bradley.
Brickmania’s KF41 Lynx is modeled after the initial Infantry Fighting Vehicle variants supplied to the Hungarian Army. It includes a fully rotatable turret with 30mm main gain, coax machine gun, a Remote Weapon Station featuring BrickArms® M2HB and Ammo Chute, plus a pop-up dual Spike anti-tank guided missile launcher. The vehicle sits on fully functional suspension and has two opening hatches in the turret and four in the vehicle hull. The model has an incredible 43 printed elements throughout, plus a fully printed custom vehicle commander minifigure. The interior of the vehicle is ready to be fully detailed by the customer, if so desired.
