About the JAS 39E Gripen- Multirole Fighter Aircraft:

Named for the Griffin, a mythical creature known for strength and vigilance, the JAS 39 Gripen is Sweden’s modern fighter known for being compact, lethal, brilliantly engineered, and flexible. Indeed, “JAS” stands for Jakt, Attack, Spaning, meaning fighter, attack, and reconnaissance in Swedish and highlighting the aircraft’s multirole nature. Designed during the Cold War to defend Sweden’s dispersed road-base system, the Gripen can take off from short runways, including stretches of highway, and be refueled and rearmed by a small ground crew in minutes. Its delta wing and forward canards give it exceptional agility, while a modern fly-by-wire system ensures precise control in demanding maneuvers.

The latest version, the JAS 39E Gripen, represents a major technological leap. Its General Electric F414 engine delivers greater thrust and increased internal fuel capacity, thus extending the Gripen’s range and endurance. And its cutting-edge radar enables a wider field of view than many competitors. The E variant also incorporates advanced electronic warfare systems, an infrared search and track sensor, and a new cockpit with a large-area panoramic display for the pilot. Notably, the Gripen E also features a network-centric design, enabling it to share targeting data in real time, acting as both hunter and information hub. Lightweight, cost-effective, and technologically sophisticated, the Gripen demonstrates the importance of smart design to air superiority.

Multiple builds / multiple options:

Inside the box you will find markings for both Swedish and Ukrainian Air Force liveries. The pilot included has a Swedish flag on his left shoulder. Optional add-ons are as follows:

• Czech Air Force aircraft markings pack (all packs also include replacement head and left arm)
• Hungarian Air Force aircraft markings
