About the Fire Track – Wildland Fire Fighting Vehicle:

Combatting forest fires requires specialized equipment that can handle adverse terrain. That terrain can sometimes render standard firefighting vehicles useless. Enter the fire track, an all-terrain tracked vehicle with a specialized loadout to bring the fight no matter where the fire rages.

Fire tracks can be equipped with an 800-gallon water tank, various nozzle ports, storage for equipment, and a dozer blade. For its power plant, a Deutz TCD 3.6-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel is used. This 134 hp engine permits the fire track to cross over the backcountry to help stop the spread. Its double, twin rocker arm bogie suspension keeps the ride smooth while its one piece, two-foot-wide rubber track glides over the bumpy terrain. The cabs are customizable and can fit two firefighters, as well as other gear such as shovels, chainsaws, axes, and of course water coolers to quench the thirst on a hot day.

Coupled with other equipment, such as a firefighting bulldozer, the fire track is an impressive piece of kit that helps extinguish damaging forest fires.
