About the Dream Team Van:

Looking like it rolled out of a war zone and onto the streets of Los Angeles, the Dream Team’s van matched the aggression and energy of the crack team it transported. One of the most recognizable vehicles in TV history, the black customized 1983 GMC Vandura, sporting a red racing stripe, turbine-style wheels, and roof-mounted spoiler, roared down the streets, across the screen, and brought the action with it. Capable of getting the team through tough jobs, the team did not need any other vehicle: the van left the driver shouting that he ain’t getting on no plane. 

As bullets flew and tired screeched, the team used the van and gadgets made from a bunch of junkyard parts to beat seemingly impossible odds. As if it were all planned, the leader could confidently announce that he loves it when a plan comes together. The van captured the tough personalities but creativity and mechanical genius of the team. Packed full of tools and gear, serving as a command post, and capable of outrunning police or ramming through barricades, the van offered everything the team needed to try something they saw in a cartoon once. It was not just transportation, and through the chaos of the job, the van kept the team together and symbolized teamwork and loyalty. If someone thought the job seemed too tough for the van or the team, they might just be told to shut up, fool!
