About the Albatros D.III – World War I Fighter Aircraft:

Flown by WWI aces Manfred von Richthofen (the Red Baron) as well as his brother, Lothar von Richthofen, the Albatros D.III was the German answer to the French Nieuport 11 and 17. In April of 1917, the dominance of the D.III in the hands of superiorly trained German pilots became truly evident as the British lost 275 aircraft to the Germans 66, making the D.III the most deadly fighter in the skies during that time.
