About the 20mm Twin Mount Mk 24 - WWII US Navy Anti-Aircraft Cannon

The US Navy's 20mm Anti-Aircraft cannon was a mass-produced licensed copy of the gun designed in Oerlikon, Switzerland, and was a standard short-range anti-aircraft gun on almost every ship in the United States Navy during World War II. This Mk 24 Mount features a pair 20mm guns, with pedestal mount, armored shield, and bag to collect the spent brass. A typical Twin Mount Mk 24 would be manned by 4-5 sailors (1 gunner, 1 trainer, 1 range setter, and 2 loaders).  At the end of World War II, the guns were largely removed from service, as they proved to be insufficient to counter fast and more durable aircraft, then coming into service
